Safari guide. Kruger National Park. Since 2017.
I've been guiding safaris in Kruger National Park since 2017 with Wild Wings Safaris.
I fell in love with all of it. Not just the big five. The small stuff. The dung beetles doing their thing at dusk. The tree frogs that start up at night like a tiny orchestra. The way a herd of impala freezes when something shifts in the grass. That moment before everything happens.
I'm the kind of guide who will stop the vehicle for a chameleon crossing the road. Or sit for twenty minutes watching a spider build a web. Because honestly, that stuff is just as good as a leopard in a tree. Different kind of good. But just as real.
When I'm not guiding guests, I'm out in the bush anyway. Camera in hand, coffee in a flask. Can't help it. This is just where I'm supposed to be.
Most people come to Kruger with a checklist. Lion. Leopard. Elephant. Rhino. Buffalo. And yes, I'll do everything I can to find them. That's part of the job and I love it. There's nothing quite like watching a leopard move through the bush. It never gets old.
But the real magic? It's everything in between. The way a sunset sounds when the bush goes quiet and the nightjars start calling. The smell of rain on dry earth after months of nothing. A dung beetle rolling a ball twice its size across the road like its life depends on it. Because it does.
I want you to leave seeing the bush differently. Not just with a full camera roll, but with a feeling. Something you can't quite explain to people back home. That's what I'm here for.

Nicky, our guide, was unbelievably knowledgeable and really easy to get on with. She was very clearly ensuring we had the best time we could.
Nicky was the most outstanding tour guide you can imagine. Her knowledge was off the charts. Not just about the big five but small animals, plants, birds, everything. If I had to mark Nicky out of 100 she would be a definite 120.
Our tour guide in Kruger was the amazing Nicky. A bundle of energy, enthusiasm and passion. Her knowledge was vast and she made sure we managed to get the best pictures.
I guide through Wild Wings Safaris. They've been running safaris across southern and east Africa since 2005. They're ABTA and SATSA bonded, which means your money is protected, and they've been inducted into the TripAdvisor Hall of Fame. I'm one of their Kruger specialists. When guests book a Kruger safari through Wild Wings and request me, I run the whole thing.
I also take on a limited number of custom trips when my schedule allows. Small groups, built around what you actually want to experience. That might mean a photography-focused itinerary, serious birding, hikes, or somewhere a bit more off the radar, like the Kalahari. If you've got something in mind, tell me. I'll let you know what's realistic and how we could shape it.
I'm often out in the bush and might take a day or two to get back to you. If it's urgent, get hold of the Wild Wings office directly.
